Head of Accounting – m/f – permanent contract – full-time

We are looking for a Head of Accounting who is able to structure, secure and develop the department while ensuring the transition of our tools and processes and accompanying the change.

Your role

You will be responsible for the ACL Group’s accounting in compliance with Luxembourg legal requirements. In addition to day-to-day management, you will play a driving role in improving processes and introducing scalable work tools.

Your main tasks

Accounting and tax management

  • Ensuring compliance with accounting and tax obligations for all companies in the group.
  • Planning and reviewing monthly financial statements, preparing annual financial statements (Lux GAAP) and managing external audits.
  • Reviewing all declarations and ensuring their submission (annual financial statements, VAT, taxes and STATEC).
  • Ensuring the proper monitoring of analytical accounting.

Team management and organisation

  • Managing and developing the accounting team (6 accountants + 1 debt collection agent).
  • Structuring and optimising internal processes and ensuring the proper application of accounting procedures.
  • Managing the collection of customer receivables.

Financial efficiency

  • Continuously improving closing deadlines and the quality of reporting.
  • Ensuring operational links with invoicing and controlling.
  • Simplifying accounting processes and reducing manual tasks.
  • Introducing control indicators and strengthening control over financial flows.

Projects & Transformation

  • Main contact person for the further development of the ERP (Odoo).
  • Active participation in digitisation and automation projects.

 

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting & taxation
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as head of accounting in a Luxembourg-based operating/commercial company.
  • In-depth knowledge of Luxembourg accounting regulations (Lux GAAP) and Luxembourg tax law (VAT and corporation tax).
  • Experience in the implementation of ERP systems or continuous improvement projects.
  • Confident use of digital tools – Odoo is an advantage, advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Sense of responsibility and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, pragmatic and solution-oriented.
  • Meticulous approach to work, good analytical and synthetic skills.
  • Experience in team management and strong leadership skills.
  • Structured, reliable and committed personality with a sense of priorities.
  • Decisiveness, ability to drive issues forward and accompany change.
  • Fluency in French and Luxembourgish; knowledge of German and English is an advantage.
