Dylan Pereira, Motorsport Athlete of the Year
On Saturday, 7 February, ACL Sport hosted its annual Motorsport Awards Soiree at the GridX in Wickrange, bringing together the entire Luxembourg motorsport community.
Around 300 guests attended the gala, which honoured the achievements of Luxembourg’s pilots following a season rich in emotion. Out of the 354 licensed competitors within ACL Sport, including 29 women, around fifty were awarded for their performances in their respective disciplines or for their overall contribution to motorsport.
One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the “Autosportler vum Joer” title. Following the combined vote of the public and ACL Sport’s governing bodies, the highest distinction in Luxembourg motorsport was awarded to Dylan Pereira for his outstanding season. He claimed the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia championship and secured victories at the 24 Hours of Zolder, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and the 12 Hours of Spa Francorchamps. Pereira wins the title for the fourth time, having previously received it in 2017, 2019 and 2021.
Based on the combined votes of the public, the Luxembourg Motorsports Writers Association, the ACL Sport Executive Committee and its sporting and technical stewards, Dylan Pereira secured 25.23 percent of the votes, ahead of Justin Flammang with 9.57 percent and Grégoire Munster with 8.84 percent.
“I warmly congratulate Dylan Pereira on his journey and his performances throughout the year. My congratulations also go to all drivers. They competed with the same passion and determination and play a key role in strengthening and promoting Luxembourg motorsport,” said Yves Wagner, President of the ACL.
2026, a Year of Renewal
The past season did show the growing enthusiasm for motorsport. With 354 licences issued in 2025, ACL Sport hit a new record. The return of the Lorentzweiler hill climb marked the opening of the Luxembourg Hill Climb Championship, which later continued in Eschdorf. The Rallye Lëtzebuerg in Hosingen, as well as auto slalom and karting events in Colmar-Berg, were found in the national calendar.
In 2026, the focus will be on reviving competition at Mondercange. For the first time since 1998, several races will be held there throughout the season. The programme will include karting competitions, car and kart duels and the ACL Race X featuring cross-car racing.
Luxembourg motorsport is clearly gaining momentum, and the drivers are now looking forward to welcoming spectators at events across the country.
