The ACL is stepping up its commitment to sustainable and shared mobility in Luxembourg

Published on 18/07/2025

A new carsharing project in Elmen illustrates the ACL's active role in developing local, sustainable, and shared solutions.

On the afternoon of July 16, in the presence of Kehlen’s municipal council and representatives of the Automobile Club of Luxembourg (ACL), the ACL Car Sharing service was officially launched in the Elmen district.

This new project, developed in partnership with the municipality of Kehlen and technology operator Moovee, confirms the ACL’s role as a trusted national partner and coordinator of mobility initiatives.

A solution developed on the ground, designed to be shared

The project is rooted in a participatory approach involving local residents. The observation was that many households are willing to rethink their mobility if practical alternatives exist. ACL Car Sharing meets this need by providing two electric vehicles, available 24 hours a day on a self-service basis via the Moovee app.

A logical continuation in the evolution of rental services

ACL Car Sharing is a continuation of ACL’s rental offering, providing an additional solution that is accessible on demand, easy to use, and environmentally friendly. The service is based on three pillars:

  • 100% digital access via the Moovee mobile app,
  • 100% electric vehicles,
  • Local integration, in close cooperation with the municipality.

ACL supports and connects mobility stakeholders

In this project, as in others, ACL is confirming its mission as a local partner: not only providing technical resources, but also offering tailored support and acting as a network between public and technological stakeholders and citizens.

As a mobility partner, our role is to listen to the needs on the ground, provide the right tools and create links between stakeholders. ACL Car Sharing in Elmen is a good example of what we can build together at the local level.” Steve Deneef, Director of Sales & Business Development, Automobile Club du Luxembourg
